Northern Ireland’s Nathan Rafferty Secures 11th Career Title on PDC Development Tour

On Saturday night, Northern Ireland’s Nathan Rafferty secured his 11th career title on the PDC Development Tour, defeating Danny Jansen in the final. The youth circuit of the PDC, the Development Tour is open to players aged 16 to 23, with those turning 24 during the season permitted to continue competing.

Rafferty’s path to the final saw him overcome a series of impressive opponents, including Tyler Mantle (4-0), Marteau Keano (4-2), Viktor Tingstrom (4-2), Tyler Thorpe (4-1), Bram van Dijk (4-0), Jarred Cole (5-2), and Nathan Potter (5-0). In the final, Rafferty proved too strong for Jansen, securing a 5-2 victory.

“The Development Tour boasts a prize pool of 15,000 pounds at each tournament, with the top two players in the overall rankings earning an invitation to the World Darts Championship and a Tour Card for 2025 and 2026. The ranking winner also secures a spot in the prestigious Grand Slam of Darts.”

Elsewhere on the Development Tour, notable results included Wessel Nijman’s 4-2 victory over Gian van Veen, Sebastian Bialecki’s 4-2 win over Bailey White, and David Fidler’s 4-1 triumph over Luke Van Der Kwast. Danny Jansen also progressed to the semi-finals with a 4-3 win over Leon Weber, while Nathan Rafferty continued his impressive run with a 4-0 victory over Bram van Dijk.

In the quarter-finals, Wessel Nijman overcame Sebastian Bialecki 5-3, Danny Jansen defeated David Fidler 5-0, Nathan Rafferty booked his place in the semi-finals with a 5-2 win over Jarred Cole, and Nathan Potter edged out Mason Whitlock 5-2.

The semi-final matchups saw Danny Jansen edge out Wessel Nijman 5-4, while Nathan Rafferty powered to a comfortable 5-0 victory over Nathan Potter, setting up the highly anticipated final between Jansen and Rafferty.
