Gary Anderson Triumphs at the European Darts Grand Prix

Last weekend, Gary “The Flying Scotsman” Anderson secured his first Euro Tour title in 10 years at the European Darts Grand Prix. The Scot defeated Ross Smith 8-6 in the final, earning him the top prize of £30,000 and allowing him to climb from 24th to 21st place on the PDC Order of Merit.

Anderson’s triumph came at the expense of several other players, including James Wade, Martin Schindler, and Gabriel Clemens, who all dropped one spot in the rankings. Meanwhile, Chris Dobey, Ross Smith, and Josh Rock managed to climb up the order, with Dobey passing Dirk van Duijvenbode to reach a career-high ranking of 13th.

Updated PDC Order of Merit

Smith’s runner-up finish saw him move up to 15th position, while Rock equaled Ryan Searle, with both occupying 19th place. The only other change in the top 64 came as Mickey Mansell overtook Matt Campbell, climbing to 51st place.

The updated PDC Order of Merit showcases the continued dominance of Luke Humphries at the top, followed by Michael van Gerwen and Michael Smith. The top 10 is rounded out by Nathan Aspinall, Gerwyn Price, Rob Cross, Dave Chisnall, Peter Wright, Dimitri Van den Bergh, and Damon Heta.

“This latest tournament victory for Anderson, a two-time World Champion, underscores his enduring class and determination on the Darts circuit.”

As the PDC season progresses, fans can expect more thrilling performances and changes in the world rankings.
